We\u2019re proud these grants will not only help provide food for families in need \u2013 but they will also help ensure families know about the free food resources that are available to them.&#8221;<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #625c58\">So far this school year, No Kid Hungry has provided more than $2.25 million in back-to-school and wildfire grants to 35 organizations across California. Today\u2019s announcement comprises 19 grants totaling $1,192,880 to nonprofits and schools that are working to ensure children across the state get nutritious meals amid the pandemic and wildfires:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"color: #625c58\">San Bernardino City Unified School District<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #625c58\">Nyeland Promise (Oxnard)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #625c58\">Help Me Help You (Long Beach)<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #625c58\">Santa Ana Unified School District<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #625c58\">Catholic Charities San Bernardino &amp; Riverside Counties<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #625c58\">Capistrano Unified School District<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #625c58\">Fullerton School District<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #625c58\">Stockton Unified School District<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #625c58\">Anaheim Union High School District<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #625c58\">Tustin Unified School District<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #625c58\">Vineland School District<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #625c58\">Los Banos Unified School District<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #625c58\">LA Promise Fund<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #625c58\">San Francisco Unified School District<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #625c58\">El Monte Union High School District<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #625c58\">Napa Valley Unified School District<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #625c58\">Mountain View Elementary School District<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #625c58\">Fullerton Joint Union High School District<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span style=\"color: #625c58\">Igo, Ono, Platina Union Elementary School District<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><span style=\"color: #625c58\">According to the <span style=\"color: #f26722\"><a style=\"color: #f26722\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cbpp.org\/research\/poverty-and-inequality\/tracking-the-covid-19-recessions-effects-on-food-housing-and\">U.S. Census Bureau\u2019s most recent Household Pulse Survey<\/a><\/span>, nearly 12 million parents and caregivers across our nation said that their children didn\u2019t have enough to eat because their families couldn\u2019t afford it. Nearly 1.8 million of those are right here in California.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"color: #625c58\">Despite this extraordinary need, many children are missing out on school meals; some districts report that enrollment in school meal programs has fallen to 25 percent of pre-pandemic levels.
