SUN Bucks Are Coming Back This June!<\/b><\/span><\/h3>\n

Each eligible child will receive $120 in summer food benefits.<\/span><\/em><\/h4>\n

Sacramento, CA<\/b>: California\u2019s Summer EBT program, known as SUN Bucks, is returning this June 2025! This summer food program provides families $120 in grocery benefits when children do not have access to school meals.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Most children who qualify for free or reduced-price school meals through a school meal application or Universal Benefits Application (UBA), or get CalFresh, CalWORKS, and\/or Medi-Cal, are automatically enrolled. SUN Bucks EBT cards are being mailed out starting June through August for children automatically enrolled.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\n

\u201cSUN Bucks is a great way to help families provide their children with the food they need over the summer months,\u201d said Kathy Saile, director of No Kid Hungry California. \u201cWorking in concert with free summer meals, SUN Bucks is helping to ensure that summer is no longer the hungriest time of year for kids.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n

Some children may need to sign up! Families can ask their child\u2019s school for a School Meal Application or Universal Benefits Application. Complete and return the form back to their child\u2019s school by September 2, 2025. The forms will be evaluated to determine if their child is eligible for SUN Bucks.<\/span><\/p>\n

Families can also check their eligibility by visiting <\/span>summerebt.org\/states\/california<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n

No Kid Hungry California is encouraging families to keep their mailing addresses up-to-date by contacting their child\u2019s school. If they receive CalFresh, CalWORKS, and\/or Medi-Cal, they can update their mailing addresses at <\/span>BenefitsCal.com<\/span><\/a>.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

It\u2019s also important for families to use SUN Bucks benefits before they expire. Benefits expire 122 days after they are issued. Any unspent benefits will expire after this time and cannot be reloaded.<\/span><\/p>\n
