The emergency forced countless residents to evacuate, upending their lives, and cutting off access to essential services, including school meals for children. The immediate aftermath left many families struggling with food insecurity, housing instability, and the daunting process of recovery.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

One year later, our hearts are still with the kids and families who experienced incredible loss and our commitment to ensure no child goes hungry is unwavering.<\/span><\/p>\n

The No Kid Hungry Los Angeles Wildfire Response Fund was created to meet the critical need for immediate and sustained community support for families, ensuring no kid misses a meal as they recover and rebuild their lives. To date, No Kid Hungry provided over $400,000 in grant funds to 10 <\/span>community organizations and county agencies<\/span><\/a> to support immediate food assistance for families, to increase organizational capacity to stores and food distribution, and to support staff and volunteers.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cOur work at Share Our Strength is about understanding the barriers that are preventing kids from getting access to the food that they need and deserve. And, recognizing that we could play a role in partnership with organizations like AltaMed and helping to remove some of those barriers at a time that the community really needs it. One of the things that struck me the most is really the power of the Pasadena and the Altadena community.
