Kids 0-18 Years Old Can Get 7 Days of Summer Meals At No Cost!<\/span><\/em><\/p>\n

Sheridan, CA<\/b>: Plateful by Western Placer Unified School District\u2019s Food & Nutrition Services and No Kid Hungry are letting kids and families know the free Summer Food Program is now available for children and teens!<\/span><\/p>\n

Good nutrition is essential for learning in school but continuing healthy eating habits is also important during the long hot summer months. Eating nutritious foods helps ensure students retain their hard learned knowledge and to help them to keep right on learning throughout the summer.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

“Summer fun should be fueled by healthy food! The Western Placer Unified School District\u2019s Summer Meals program is in full gear, so don\u2019t miss your chance to pick up 7 days of free, nutritious meals for your children ages 0-18. We ask that families please sign up through our <\/span><\/i>sign-up form<\/span><\/i><\/a> today\u2014it helps us ensure we have enough food prepared for every child in our community. \u201cThere\u2019s long been a huge gap between the number of kids getting meals in the summertime and the kids who really need them \u2013 particularly in rural communities. New flexibilities for summer meals in rural communities means that no longer has to be the case,\u201d <\/span><\/i>says Kathy Saile, No Kid Hungry California Director. <\/b>\u201cWe\u2019re excited to support these schools and community groups in offering summer meals in ways that work for their community \u2013 like allowing families to pick up multiple meals at a time or even offering home delivery.\u201d<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n
