Alert from No Kid Hungry California: SUN Bucks (Summer EBT) Benefits Expire Soon<\/b><\/span><\/p>\n

Families must use their SUN Bucks within 122 days from the date when funds are issued.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

Sacramento, CA<\/b>: No Kid Hungry California urges families who received SUN Bucks this summer to use their $120-per-child grocery benefits before they expire.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cThe cuts to federal nutrition programs in H.R. 1 have exacerbated food insecurity in California. Programs like SUN Bucks have been a lifeline to millions of California families looking to provide their children consistent access to nutritious food,\u201d said No Kid Hungry California director Kathy Saile. \u201cWe are committed to ensuring eligible families have the access and information they need to help children stay healthy and ready to learn. With the application deadline now passed for the 2026 SUN Bucks program, No Kid Hungry is reminding Californians: use your SUN Bucks before they expire!\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n

Benefits expire 122 days (or about four months) after they are issued. Any unspent money after 122 days will be lost and cannot be put back on their SUN Bucks card.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Families can call the California SUN Bucks Helpline at (877) 328-9677 to check the issuance date of their card\u2019s benefits. Live agents are available Monday through Friday, 6 a.m. – 8 p.m. Visit the California Department of Social Services for more information at <\/span>cdss.ca.gov\/sun-bucks<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/p>\n
