The partnership includes a $122,000 grant from No Kid Hungry Florida to support breakfast initiatives throughout the district that boost school breakfast participation by bringing breakfast out of the cafeteria and making it a part of the school day.<\/p><p>The grant funding will support the district\u2019s school breakfast program in a variety of ways, including staffing, school breakfast marketing strategies and ongoing technical assistance. Through this targeted support, No Kid Hungry Florida\u2019s partnership with the district will mean many more Palm Beach County students starting their day nourished and ready to learn.\u00a0<\/p><p>\u201cWe are beyond excited to announce this new partnership with the School District of Palm Beach County,\u201d said Sky Beard, No Kid Hungry Florida director. \u201cWorking together, we will make sure school breakfast is reaching all students who need it so that all our kids in Palm Beach County can reach their full potential.\u201d<\/p><p>One in five kids in Florida live in families that struggle with hunger. Research shows that hunger has long-term ramifications on children, including lower test scores, weaker attendance rates, and a higher risk of hospitalizations and chronic diseases. No Kid Hungry Florida and its partners focus on alternative breakfast models as a critical way to end childhood hunger across the state.<\/p><p>Accessing traditional cafeteria breakfast service can be challenging for many kids.
