No Kid Hungry and Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc.\u00ae (AKA), South Atlantic Region, have joined forces to fight childhood hunger in Florida and beyond.<\/a> This new collaboration brings together AKA\u2019s longstanding commitment to service and No Kid Hungry\u2019s expertise in policy, program support, and advocacy to ensure kids have the nutrition they need to grow and thrive.<\/span><\/p>\n

The partnership officially launched at the <\/span>72nd South Atlantic Regional Conference<\/b> in Tampa Bay, where the No Kid Hungry Florida team had the pleasure of joining their members and leadership. As part of the event, volunteers assembled <\/span>Childhood Hunger Initiative Power Packs (C.H.I.P.P.\u2122) <\/b>\u2014nutritious, easy-to-prepare meals and snacks designed for children facing food insecurity. These packs are being distributed to students in need at <\/span>B.C. Graham Elementary School<\/b> in Tampa, as well as Title I schools in <\/span>Madison, Leon, and Gadsden counties<\/b>.<\/span><\/p>\n

This meaningful act of service marks the beginning of a broader effort. No Kid Hungry has committed <\/span>$50,000 in grant funding<\/b> to support AKA\u2019s initiatives to reduce childhood hunger through direct service and strategic advocacy.<\/span>

\n<\/span>As <\/span>South Atlantic Regional Director, The Honorable Tiffany Moore Russell, Esq.<\/b>, shared, \u201cThe AKA CHIPP project is a part of our international initiative that aims to Empower Our Families. This partnership supports our most ambitious childhood hunger program to date and provides our members with additional knowledge and expertise that will help us fight for policies that can reduce child hunger in the communities we serve, allowing us to make an even greater impact.\u201d<\/span>

\n<\/span>In Florida, where too many children face the daily reality of food insecurity, partnerships like this are vital. They bring together deep community roots, lived experience, and policy expertise to ensure that solutions are not only implemented\u2014but sustained.<\/span>
