This is welcome news for students and schools alike. These waivers are essential in reaching more kids and families with the nutrition they may need, but they are equally important for schools and community organizations. Having these in place now gives them time to plan proactively and budget for next year. It also allows schools to alert families in advance about the meals available and increase stability to the supply chain that supports local economies. We have a <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nokidhungry.org\/blog\/usda-extends-school-meal-waivers-good-news-students-families-schools\">detailed look<\/a> at what these waivers will mean for schools. While there was some relief in the verdict, it was just a moment. At least three times in the past two weeks, we have seen instances of racial profiling repeated with the degradation and humiliation of U.S. Army 2nd Lieutenant Caron Nazario; and loss of life for Daunte Wright and Adam Toledo, a 13-year old boy. There is no simple solution to systemic racism or the inhumane brutality that killed George Floyd. But we will get there together, sharing all of our strengths.
