It\u2019s that time of year again! For many kids across Louisiana, school is out and summer is here \u2013 and with summer break comes summer meals. For kids who rely on school breakfast, lunch, and afterschool meals, summer can be the hungriest time of year. Fortunately, communities across Louisiana are taking care of kids through summer meals programs, and making sure they get the healthy food they need.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

On Tuesday, June 6th, New Orleans Mayor LaToya Cantrell took a plunge into the pool during the annual New Orleans Recreation Development (NORD) Splash Day which kicks off the start of summer and announces the opening of NORD camps and pools around the city for the youth.<\/span><\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t

Families can text FOOD or COMIDA to 304-304 to find a site with meals for kids closest to them when school is out.
