Breakfast is the most important meal of the day and critical in ensuring kids have the nutrition they need to learn and grow. This year, we\u2019re celebrating #NSBW23 by highlighting how school breakfast changes lives, and the school nutrition professionals at the heart of it.\u00a0<\/span><\/p><p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">By feeding kids a healthy school breakfast, schools are providing the foundation for kids to succeed. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">School breakfast is intertwined with student success. <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/schoolnutrition.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/06\/Breakfast-Benefits-final.pdf\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Studies show<\/span><\/a> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">that kids who eat school breakfast are more likely to excel academically, be more alert, and have better concentration, memory and attendance and fewer behavior problems. <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">School breakfast is a win for families too and can help lighten the load during busy weekday mornings.<\/span><\/p><p><a href=\"http:\/\/gobigbreakfast.org\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Go Big Breakfast<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, a campaign of No Kid Hungry Nebraska, has been working to make sure schools and districts have the tools they need to implement alternative breakfast models that get more kids eating for over 4 years. That\u2019s why we\u2019re also celebrating National School Breakfast Week by collecting community comments about 2023 Nebraska School Nutrition Heroes. The <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/state.nokidhungry.org\/nebraska\/nebraska-snac\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Nebraska Student Nutrition Action Committee (SNAC)<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> is inviting community members to write a quick note of thanks for school nutrition staff from their school or district. These School Nutrition Heroes will receive a gift pack and be recognized on May 5th for <\/span><a href=\"http:\/\/www.schoollunchheroday.com\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">National School Lunch Hero Day<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.
