NO KID HUNGRY CELEBRATES UNIVERSAL SCHOOL MEALS EXPANDING STATEWIDE IN NEW YORK, EXPANDING CHILD TAX CREDIT<\/span><\/b>\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/p>\n

No Kid Hungry New York Director Rachel Sabella issued this statement celebrating the passage of the New York State budget that includes new funding to provide no-cost, universal school meals for all students in New York, as well as the expansion of the Empire State Child Tax Credit.<\/span><\/i><\/p>\n

\u201cProviding meals at no charge to all students in school means every child gets fed. With this budget\u2019s passage, New York is leading the way in the fight against child hunger, showing that bold, people-first policy can improve lives. Together with the expansion of the state\u2019s Child Tax Credit, this budget will keep money in the pockets of families to afford groceries and other essentials.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201cAt a time when New Yorkers are\u00a0<\/span>taking on more debt just to pay for food<\/span><\/a><\/span>, these decisive steps will help parents make ends meet, reduce childhood poverty, and guarantee that students are better prepared to learn and thrive.<\/span><\/p>\n
