For many <\/span>New York<\/span> kids, especially in rural areas, summer can be one of the hungriest times of the year. No Kid Hungry <\/span>New York<\/span> awarded over $<\/span>200,000<\/span> in grants to sixteen schools and community organizations working to make sure more kids get the meals they need.<\/span><\/p>\n

This summer, No Kid Hungry <\/span>New York<\/span> is providing grant funds to summer meal programs focused on expanding access to rural non-congregate summer meals, especially in areas facing persistent or very high poverty. Whether delivering more meals directly to homes or setting up additional grab-and-go sites in hard-to-reach places, sponsors can use this funding to reach more kids in more ways. Our grant funding goes to pay for everything from refrigerators to delivery vans\u00a0 \u2013 whatever schools and communities need to feed kids.<\/span><\/p>\n

This year, the following school districts and community organizations received grants in <\/span>New York<\/span>:<\/span><\/p>\n

  • Le Roy Central School District<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Lyons Central School District<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Moriah Central School District<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Peru Central School District<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Pine Valley Central School District<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Pioneer Central School<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Plattsburgh City School District<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Salamanca City School District<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Wellsville\u00a0 Central School District\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n
  • Whitehall Junior-Senior High School<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n
