No Kid Hungry will prioritize funding school districts impacting the following communities:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Communities where 50% or more of the population identifies as Black, Latino, Indigenous Peoples, Asian, Hawaiian Native or Pacific Islander<\/li>\n<li>Rural and urban communities where schools\/school districts face unique challenges in addressing hunger<\/li>\n<li>Communities experiencing extreme economic hardship, determined through multiple data points&nbsp;<\/li>\n<li>Communities where members experience intersecting social and environmental inequities<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Please visit the No Kid Hungry website to learn more about&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nokidhungry.org\/no-kid-hungry-grants-our-beliefs-and-values\">No Kid Hungry\u2019s grantmaking beliefs and values<\/a>, as well as how&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.nokidhungry.org\/no-kid-hungry-grants-how-we-prioritize-grant-funds\">No Kid Hungry prioritizes grant funds<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Share Our Strength\u2019s goal is to support school districts in expanding non-congregate options in rural communities. Funds will be prioritized to support applications with a strong and sustainable plan for maximizing participation in the child nutrition programs and\/or leveraging other programs to combat food insecurity such as emergency food programs, student and family outreach and engagement, and federal nutrition program enrollment.<\/p><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-toggle-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-1372\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-1372\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-toggle-icon elementor-toggle-icon-right\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-toggle-icon-closed\"><i class=\"fas fa-caret-square-down\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-toggle-icon-opened\"><i class=\"elementor-toggle-icon-opened fas fa-caret-up\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-toggle-title\" tabindex=\"0\">Use of Funds <\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1372\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"2\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1372\"><p>Funds are intended to support school districts in implementing non-congregate meal programs this<br>summer. Strategies may include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Ensuring maximum student participation and improving meal quality in the Summer Food Service<br>Program (SFSP) and Seamless Summer Option (SSO)<\/li>\n<li>Promoting awareness of non-congregate meal availability to students and families, especially for<br>free and reduced-price eligible students<\/li>\n<li>Promoting and supporting enrollment of SNAP, WIC, Pandemic EBT programs as well as the Child<br>Tax Credit<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Budget requests may include:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Meal service supplies and equipment.<\/li>\n<li>Costs of hiring additional staff positions, increasing hours for existing staff, and providing<br>incentives for staff retention, recruitment, and training.<\/li>\n<li>Technology requests, including point-of-service machines.<\/li>\n<li>Cleaning supplies\/equipment, including hand washing stations and PPE.<\/li>\n<li>Program outreach, benefit enrollment assistance (SNAP, WIC, etc.), and marketing costs.<\/li>\n<li>Transportation costs associated with meal delivery such as refrigerated trucks or fuel.<\/li>\n<li>Additional expenses as needed.<\/li>\n<\/ul><\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-toggle-item\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-title-1373\" class=\"elementor-tab-title\" data-tab=\"3\" role=\"button\" aria-controls=\"elementor-tab-content-1373\" aria-expanded=\"false\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-toggle-icon elementor-toggle-icon-right\" aria-hidden=\"true\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-toggle-icon-closed\"><i class=\"fas fa-caret-square-down\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<span class=\"elementor-toggle-icon-opened\"><i class=\"elementor-toggle-icon-opened fas fa-caret-up\"><\/i><\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/span>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<a class=\"elementor-toggle-title\" tabindex=\"0\">Application Requirements <\/a>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\n\t\t\t\t\t<div id=\"elementor-tab-content-1373\" class=\"elementor-tab-content elementor-clearfix\" data-tab=\"3\" role=\"region\" aria-labelledby=\"elementor-tab-title-1373\"><p>Applicants will be required to provide the following information:\u00a0\u00a0<\/p><ul><li>Detailed description of grant funding program objectives.<\/li><li>Information about your current and planned food and nutrition programs for Summer 2023.<\/li><li>School Nutrition Director and Superintendent contact information.<\/li><li>Historic district-wide enrollment and monthly meals participation for applicable programs.<\/li><li>Detailed budget of anticipated use of funding within the grant period.<\/li><li>Strategies used to elevate and address the needs of people of color in your community<\/li><\/ul><div><p><span style=\"font-weight: bolder\"><u>Please Note:<\/u><\/span><\/p><p>Grants may be funded through corporate partners working with Share Our Strength. You will be notified<br \/>upon receipt of the grant award if a corporate partner is sponsoring the grant award. Additionally, we understand that meal service plans may vary and change throughout the summer term.<\/p><p>Please submit your application with your current thinking for how your school district plans to operate non-congregate meal service throughout the grant period and any potential emergency service plans.
