No Kid Hungry recently announced more than $725,000 in grants to help 22 organizations across the state expand their programs to reach even more kids, part of its ongoing effort to ensure all children in Texas remain healthy and ready to learn.<\/p>\n<p>Due to pandemic-related waivers, schools and community organizations can again this year offer grab \u2018n go, bundled or delivered meals to all kids and teens at no cost. The grant funding supports the equipment needed to safely reach as many kids as possible with summer meals, including meal delivery, refrigeration and transportation costs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs we rebuild and recover from the devastating economic impact the pandemic has had on Texas families, Summer Meals are more important than ever,\u201d said No Kid Hungry Texas Director Stacie Sanchez Hare. \u201cWe\u2019re proud to support the schools and nonprofits working tirelessly this summer to support their communities and ensure all kids have the nutrition they need to return to school in the fall healthy and ready to learn.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>No Kid Hungry is helping families find summer meals near them through our Free Meals Finder map and texting hotline.
