The campaign&#8217;s latest grant cycle marks a continuation of its commitment to support school breakfast programs across the Lone Star State. By providing resources in Spanish, No Kid Hungry seeks to alleviate language barriers to grant funding, helping connect more kids to school meals in Texas.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/schoolnutrition.org\/about-school-meals\/national-school-breakfast-week\/about-national-school-breakfast-week\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Studies find<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> that healthy breakfasts promote academic success and positive behavior. However, many kids do not start the day with a nutritious breakfast, or any breakfast at all. School breakfasts are a convenient, affordable option for families, and <\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/now.tufts.edu\/news-releases\/study-finds-americans-eat-food-mostly-poor-nutritional-quality-except-school\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">research <\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">shows <\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">that they are often more nutritionally balanced than the ones they may eat at home or on the way to school.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cThere is a palpable benefit when children start the day with full bellies and we want to make sure all Texas kids are fueled for success from the start,\u201d said Stacie Sanchez Hare, Director of No Kid Hungry in Texas. \u201cWe are excited to continue working with school districts to nourish children and foster inclusivity and equity across every community.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Offering assistance and grant applications in Spanish not only deepens relationships with primarily Spanish-speaking communities but also better serves their needs.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cWe see children being able to focus more, showing higher attendance rates, and having a more overall positive school day following breakfast,\u201d said Rocio Madrigal, Director of Food Services for Rio Hondo ISD. \u201cWe are grateful to receive resources in Spanish to expand our school breakfast program, which ultimately boost students in reaching their full potential.\u201d<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">This grant cycle is designed to expand school districts\u2019 current breakfast programs, developing innovative and convenient options that accommodate the nutritional needs of their students.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">\u201cNo Kid Hungry is helping us expand our breakfast meal services to students that normally do not go directly to the school cafeteria,\u201d said Robert Cuellar, Child Nutrition Program Director for Laredo ISD. \u201c\u2018Breakfast by curb\u2019 is an innovative way we will be able to offer breakfast just before students walk into the school doors, providing delicious, nutritious, and appetizing grab-and-go meals that students will enjoy.\u201d\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The following seven (7) school districts are part of the latest round of funding:\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Laredo ISD<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">East Central ISD (San Antonio)<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Rio Hondo ISD\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Rockport Fulton ISD<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Gonzales ISD<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Wichita Falls ISD<\/span><\/li>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">Del Valle ISD<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">To learn more about No Kid Hungry\u2019s advocacy work and year-round grantmaking in Texas, please visit \u200b\u200b<\/span><a href=\"https:\/\/state.nokidhungry.org\/texas\/\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">https:\/\/state.nokidhungry.org\/texas\/<\/span><\/a><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><b>About No Kid Hungry<\/b><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">No child should go hungry in America.
