WEEKENDS, HOLIDAYS, AND UNANTICIPATED CLOSURES
When schools close, students may not have access to the nutritious meals normally provided during the school day. To ensure students do not experience a lapse in food security, No Kid Hungry Virginia, the USDA, and the Virginia Department of Education encourage all CACFP, SFSP, and SSO sponsors to plan and serve meals during scheduled and unanticipated school closures.
