As March draws to a close, we\u2019re reflecting on our favorite week of the year: National School Breakfast Week! Here are 3 ways that we celebrated in 2022:<\/span><\/h3>
  1. On March 10, 2022, Virginia legislators Senator Todd Pillion and Delegate Israel O\u2019Quinn introduced a joint resolution that celebrated the Commonwealth\u2019s School Breakfast Program and officially recognized March 7-11, 2022 as National School Breakfast Week.\u00a0 Two school nutrition leaders from Senator Pillion\u2019s district, Kathy Hicks from Bristol and Tracy Webster from Wythe, joined us at the Capitol and were recognized by the General Assembly for their tireless commitment to Virginia\u2019s students<\/span>. <\/span>Read the resolution <\/span>here<\/span><\/a>.<\/span><\/li><\/ol>

    \"\"<\/p>

    1. \u00a0Our team shared our gratitude for the dedicated school nutrition professionals across the Commonwealth in this<\/span> video<\/span><\/a>, <\/span>highlighting the importance of school breakfast and the critical role school nutrition professionals play in helping children succeed in and out of the classroom<\/span>.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>
    2. \u00a0On the last day of National School Breakfast Week, we hosted a breakfast PARTY at this year\u2019s School Nutrition Association Conference in Hampton, Virginia. We used our session to share questions, elevate victories, discuss emerging trends in meal service and marketing, and review Virginia\u2019s breakfast growth over the last decade. We cheered, clapped, celebrated, and reveled in the presence of breakfast experts from around the Commonwealth.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/li><\/ol>

      Student excellence starts with access to a morning meal. To all our #HungerHeroes in cafeterias around the Commonwealth: we see you, and we thank you.
