However, according to the<\/span><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600\" href=\"https:\/\/www.fb.org\/files\/Year_Over_Year_Price_Comparison.pdf\"> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">American Farm Bureau Federation<\/span><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">, the holidays will be more expensive for families in Virginia and across the country with the cost of meals up 20% this year due to inflation.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">The holiday season only exacerbates the hunger thousands of Virginia families experience every day of the year, and this year\u2019s record inflation is making it even more difficult for food-insecure families to feed their children.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">All kids deserve to have the food they need to fuel their dreams and thrive.<\/span> <span style=\"font-weight: 400\">If you or someone you know is struggling to make ends meet, consider these year-round opportunities for nutrition support:<\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"font-weight: 400\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">School meals are a free or affordable way for families to stretch budgets and ensure their children are nourished. Families can contact the <\/span><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><a style=\"color: #ff6600\" href=\"https:\/\/doe.virginia.gov\/support\/nutrition\/resources\/nutrition_programs_dir.shtml#G\"><span style=\"font-weight: 400\">school nutrition department<\/span><\/a><\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400\"> to learn more about their school division\u2019s meal prices, and make sure they have a school meals application on file.
