Our Level Up Roadshow training has come to an end! From all of us at the No Kid Hungry Indiana, we thank all of the wonderful participants who joined us earlier this month for our very first roadshow training. We are grateful to have had the opportunity to learn and grow alongside school nutrition professionals from across the state. We could not do the work that we do without you!

At our training, we had over 50 participants join us in Indianapolis and Fort Wayne to discuss and learn about topics from culinary skills and inclusivity in school meals to marketing your school nutrition program and breaking down barriers to access.

Here are some things we were able to accomplish:

  • We had people from 35 different school districts across Indiana attend
  • We had six different interactive sessions, and you can find the slides for each here.
  • Participants learned how to market their school nutrition programs more effectively, make their programs more human-centered, break down barriers to accessing and participating in school nutrition programs, diversify their menus, and so much more!

Here’s what some of our participants are saying:

“We are going to try some of Chef Rebecca’s recipes at our High Schools. [We] also have scheduled time to stop by our schools and observe lunch service from a student’s perspective.”

“Great ideas on the recipes, and we will be discussing diversifying the menu and leveling up the serving line.”

I thought it was great and allowed me to brainstorm new ideas for my district.”

Once again, thank you to all the participants who were able to join us during our training. Don’t forget to check out our Resources page and subscribe to our newsletter to stay current on the latest resources and trainings.
