Frequently Asked Questions:

What is SNAP?

Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) provides food benefits to financially eligible families to supplement their grocery budget. The average Montana SNAP household is estimated to receive $361 per month in 2023.

I have SNAP, will my child get free or reduced price meals?

Free school meals.

My child is at a school with free meals for all students, will we get Summer EBT?

Depends. If you are directly certified (shown above), you will. If you aren‘t directly certified, you‘ll need to fill out a free and reduced price online application here, or apply at your school.

One child gets free meals and the other doesn’t, what should I do?

Talk to school admin. If children live in the same household, then they should receive same benefits.

I want more information on Direct Certification.

There is more information on the FRAC website here.
