New Poll: New Yorkers Struggle to Afford Groceries, As Prices Outpace Incomes
As New Yorkers grapple with an affordability crisis, rising food prices are adding to their cost of living according to a new poll commissioned by No Kid Hungry New York. 86% of New Yorkers reported that the cost of food was rising faster than their income. The hunger crisis disproportionately impacts families of color in New York with 73% of Hispanic families taking on additional debt to feed their families. These findings in our annual poll also highlight the support for food assistance programs like SNAP, WIC, and Summer EBT.
