Connect Kids with the School Meals They Need
Today, millions of parents are finding it hard to make ends meet, many for the first time. As the pandemic rages on, as many as 1 in 4 kids in our country could face hunger this year.
During this crisis, school meals can be a valuable source of nutrition and comfort for kids, while alleviating stress for parents who have found themselves juggling new responsibilities or struggling to make ends meet. This year they're available for free for all kids, but school districts all around the country continue to see low participation. This means that kids are missing the meals they need and school nutrition budgets are taking a big hit, making it harder to sustain strong programs.
One thing we want parents to know this school year is that school meals really are for all kids and they aren’t in limited supply. In fact, when more kids eat school meals it helps students, parents and the whole school community.
