Can you describe your community and school district? What do you love about where you live and work?
Sweet Home is a rural PK – 12 district located in Western New York. We proudly serves over 4,000 students breakfast and lunch daily. Our district has a great group of administrators, educators, and parents who’s number one priority is our students and preparing them for their future.
How do you get kids excited to eat school breakfast?
We let our students be part of the decision making process. We love to get feedback on which products the students love to eat and which ones they do not. We work together as a team.
If you could invite someone famous to breakfast at your school, who would it be and why?
Josh Allen. I think he is a wonderful role model for all of our students. Every student looks up to him and he always sends out a great message when he speaks.
What keeps you motivated to do this work?
Our students are the reason I am motivated to do this work. It is very rewarding to see their smiling faces knowing we are making a difference in their lives.
If you could tell everyone in America something about school breakfast, what would you tell them?
Breakfast is your most important meal of the day. By choosing school breakfast our students are more focused, have better memory, more energy and over all better health.
