No Kid Hungry NC collaborates closely with state agencies and other groups in our outreach all 100 counties and every school district in the state. Learn more about some of our partners:
Carolina Hunger Initiative is staffed by some of the same team members working on the No Kid Hungry NC campaign, and is also based at the UNC Center for Health Promotion and Disease Prevention. It is focused on innovative ways to connect North Carolinians with healthy meals.
The Food, Fitness, Opportunity Research Collaborative (FFORC) is another program based at UNC HPDP that also works on healthy food access for North Carolinians. FFORC includes most of the UNC HPDP programs that receive SNAP-Ed funding outside of the Carolina Hunger Initiative and No Kid Hungry NC teams.
As the state agency responsible for managing many of the USDA child nutrition programs operating in North Carolina — including school breakfast, school lunch, and summer meals — the NC Department of Public Instruction (NC DPI) has been an essential partner since day one of the No Kid Hungry NC campaign.
The NC Department of Health and Human Services (NC DHHS) oversees North Carolina’s participation in a number of federal nutrition programs, including the At-Risk Afterschool Meals program (ARAM), which is part of the Child & Adult Care Food Program (CACFP).
The Dairy Alliance — a nonprofit funded by dairy farm families of the Southeast — has partnered with No Kid Hungry NC on grant programs, events, and other work focused on increasing access to school breakfast in North Carolina.
The Food Bank of Central & Eastern NC is one of many food banks working to alleviate hunger and provide other services across the state. It is a longtime presenting partner of the NC Child Hunger Leaders Conference.
