We are thrilled to be presenting at this year’s CSNA annual conference in Pasadena, CA this October!
If you are attending, please join our workshop “Nutrition Hubs: The FUTURE of Feeding Kids while Maximizing Revenue” during Session G on Saturday, October 22, 2022!
See you there!
Description:
Schools operating as Nutrition Hubs help children access the nutrition they need throughout the year by operating all available federal child nutrition programs—school breakfast, lunch, afterschool and summer meals. This strategy also provides school nutrition departments with a financial management solution: increasing revenue, optimizing staff time and maximizing operational efficiencies. The goals of Nutrition Hubs are to increase meal participation and to support schools in connecting to resources via community partners. Community partners can provide wrap-around services integrated into meal service, including education and outreach to families on important topics, such as CalFresh and PEBT. School nutrition professionals will be introduced to the tools and programs available to engage community partners and eliminate childhood hunger while operating a financially sound nutrition program. Acting as a Nutrition Hub for the community has a range of benefits including improvement of program efficiencies, program awareness, and building trust with parents and other key school stakeholders.
