Del Norte Unified School District Kicks off Summer Meals Program at Beachfront Park
During the Summer, Kids 0-18 Years Old Can Get Summer Meals At No Cost!
Crescent City, CA: The Del Norte Unified School District’s Nutrition Services and No Kid Hungry are kicking off the Summer Food Program for children and teens at Beachfront Park on Monday, June 16. The kick-off event will feature an afternoon of fun activities, games, giveaways, and food.
“We are excited to see how many more kids we will be able to reach this summer with some of the innovative changes we are making. We are fortunate to be able to continue to grow this Summer Food program as it is crucial to many children in our county and community. We are looking forward to a fun-tastic bubble filled kick off party!” said Julie Bjorkstrand, nutrition services director for Del Norte Unified School District.

What families need to know about the Summer Food Program:
- Kids ages 0 – 18 years can pick up 2 days of free meals on Mondays and 4 days of free meals on Wednesdays at many locations throughout the county.
- Breakfasts and lunches will be provided.
- Kids MUST BE PRESENT to receive summer meals.
- Meal distribution days and times may vary by site. Families should visit the Del Norte Unified’s Nutrition Services website or call (707) 464-0246 for more information.
