Marysville Joint Unified School District Wraps Up Summer Meals Program Next Week
Kids 0-18 Years Old Can Get 7 Days of Summer Meals At No Cost!
Marysville, CA: The Marysville Joint Unified School District’s Nutrition Services and No Kid Hungry are wrapping up the Summer Food Program for children and teens at six locations on Tuesday, July 14 and Wednesday, July 15.
“Summer fun should be fueled by healthy food! The Marysville Joint Unified School District’s Summer Meals program is wrapping up next week, so don’t miss your chance to pick up 7 days of free, nutritious meals for your children ages 0-18. We ask that families please sign up through our survey today—it helps us ensure we have enough food prepared for every child in our community. Let’s make sure our kids are well-fed and ready to finish the summer strong!” – Amber Green, nutrition services director for Marysville Joint Unified School District
“There’s long been a huge gap between the number of kids getting meals in the summertime and the kids who really need them – particularly in rural communities. New flexibilities for summer meals in rural communities means that no longer has to be the case” said Kathy Saile, No Kid Hungry California Director. “We’re excited to support these schools and community groups in offering summer meals in ways that work for their community – like allowing families to pick up multiple meals at a time or even offering home delivery.”
